Although Freemasonry has been meeting in Sherborne for over 230 years, the Lodge of Benevolence No 1168 was consecrated in 1867 and thus now enters its 150th year with WBro Peter Cairns taking on the role as its Worshipful Master for a second time. more...

50 Years a Mason 

Our December meeting on December 12th marked a major milestone in the Masonic career of W Bro John Kennett PPrSGW as it was on December 12th 1966
(50 years to the day) that he was initiated into the Lodge of Benevolence No 1168.

Sherborne Food Bank receives donations from Sherborne based Freemasons 

The Sherborne Food Bank has been in existence for some nine years to help people in Sherborne and the local area who are in need. Inevitably, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic there have been many more calls than usual on their resources and hence they are in need of extra support. First business meeting on Monday 14th June 2021 

A small cohort of the Lodge of Benevolence members took the first step in the direction of returning to normality by holding a socially distanced business meeting on Monday 14th June. We now look forward to a full resumption in September.
